Welcome to ukeStroud

Formed in 2010, UkeStroud is a friendly club for ukulele players from Stroud and surrounding areas.

MEETINGS
We meet at Pitchcombe Village Hall, GL6 6LP. The hall is situated behind the church and has a good-sized car park and easy access. (DIRECTIONS)

We meet on the 1st, and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and have a well-deserved break for hot drinks and biscuits.

Where there is a 5th Thursday in the month, we have an afternoon meeting from 2-4 pm
The cost is £2.00.

NEWBIES
Newcomers are very welcome if you want to find out more about playing this fun instrument. We don’t have the facility to teach absolute beginners at our Thursday meetings but can recommend local teachers.

SONGS
Song Sheets: We have a varied repertoire of well-known popular songs, many with a folk influence. Songs can be downloaded from the website page and most players use a tablet to store their music.

Songs are projected on screen at meetings, so visitors can fully take part.

SATURDAY STRUMMERS
There is a Zoom session every Saturday from 10.00 am led by Norma and her husband, Mark. Most of the songs are taken from the UkeStroud website, but all the music is shown on screen.

Use our contact form to get in touch and find out the Zoom code.

PERFORMANCES
UkeStroud is available to play for fundraising events, social groups and care homes. We encourage audience participation by providing copies of the words.
We charge only a modest fee.

THE STANLEY STRUMMERS
Another local group, with close links to UkeStroud, which meets every other Monday afternoon in the meeting room at Kings Stanley Village Hall, Broad Street, King’s Stanley GL10 3PN

OTHER GROUPS IN THE AREA
We have links with other groups in Gloucester and Cheltenham and also Tetbury U3A, Cirencester U3A, Cam and Wotton-under-Edge. Use our contact form for further information.

WEDNESDAY MORNING MUSIC (Stroud)
A free music happening at Stroud Brewery, Hope Mill Lane GL5 2BY every Wednesday 10.30 am -12.30 am. There is a significant presence of ukuleles but joined by guitars and other acoustic instruments playing a variety of acoustic music and songs from the UkeStroud song sheets.
